About Hypnotherapy

Being in a state of hypnosis by itself is unlikely to relieve any symptoms you may be suffering.  It is the therapy carried out whilst in the state of hypnosis that is important for healing.  During therapy we seek to release old patterns which are holding us back, heal, and reprogram for success and well-being.

Since the subconscious mind is our driving force, we always do what our subconscious believes.  Since it will believe anything it is told, we can reprogram it if we bypass the conscious mind and substitute new, constructive ideas for its existing negative ones. (Charles Tebbetts)

Hypnotherapy can be used to help break habits such as smoking and nail biting, increase motivation to enhance sporting performance, boost your confidence if you are taking exams or with driving test nerves.  It can also help you to cope with the stresses and strains of everyday life that affect so many of us in today’s hectic world.

It can also help with personal relationship problems such as psycho-sexual difficulties, IBS, insomnia, guilt, anger, bereavement, agoraphobia and claustrophobia, to name but a few.

Hypnotherapy is not a panacea for all ills, but can be a very effective treatment for many problems where psychological factors are present.

Hypnotherapists cannot guarantee a ‘cure’ for ailments that may have a medical origin.  These may include insomnia, eating disorders, skin problems, headaches etc.

Hypnotherapy can help with many health problems, but if you are in pain or have suffered an injury you must consult your doctor first.  If you are taking medication prescribed by your doctor, do not stop taking it without consulting him/her first.
